Sometimes, you are given opportunities to feed your work and your mom passions at the same time -> and this is one of them.

Finding your purpose

In May 2020, I decided to continue betting on myself and working on my mission -> To be a mom and marketer with work + life balance. <-

It sounds simple but it’s my greatest challenge.

Embracing your purpose

A year ago, a truly special opportunity presented itself to me with The Organic Acidemia Association (OAA).

The Organic Acidemia Association is a parent-led support community that provides resources for families and patients with rare organic acidemia metabolic disorders. Rare metabolic disorders can be tough to navigate and finding resources and other families to connect with can be difficult. OAA binds together thousands of people that are affected by these disorders and helps further research by sharing the patient perspective.

My son, Graham (7yrs old) was born with a metabolic disorder called Methylmalonic Acidemia. When he was diagnosed, we had very limited resources to help us better understand his condition. All we wanted to do was talk to other families and find more information about the disorder. The OAA did this for us and we are so thankful we found them!

I knew one day when I was ready, I would be able to contribute to a cause that hits deep.

The Organic Acidemia Association was looking to redesign and upgrade their website, and I knew I was the perfect fit for the gig. Such a large part of designing experiences is truly understanding your “audience” and this time I was a part of the audience that I was designing for, and that felt pretty special.

I am coming off of a week of being grateful on this #GivingTuesday, and wanted to share my most fulfilling project to date. Thank you Kathy Stagni! 😉

Working with purpose

When guided by purpose, its easy to find meaning in your work. Research even shows that when you find meaning from your work you can improve your life. This project has definitely improved mine.
